Description James Brockman 2011-11-20 19:42:31 UTC
I can create an ASP.NET project using either VB or C#, but when I try to create a web.config or global.asax the 'New' button remains disabled. To reproduc:

1. Create an empty ASP.NET project in either language;
2. Right click on the project in the Solution Explorer;
3. Select Add/New File;
4. Select ASP.NET in the left-hand list box;
5. Select "Web Application Configuration" in the middle list box;

The file name box remains grayed out as you'd expect, but the dialog "acts" as though I were supposed to supply a filename and I didn't. Therefore, the 'New' button never becomes enabled, and 'Cancel' is the only option I'm left with.

What version of MD? Can you still reproduce this?

It's been reported that this is reproducible by, but not newer versions.

It was probably fixed by https://github.com/mono/monodevelop/commit/f1f62e93c5494fbac7f33ef49860b07d3da3e18c
