Find in Files, when scoped to a subdirectory of the project, searches all files in the on-disk directory. This is unexpected. It would be better to search the files in the *project* subdirectory. This would mean it could handle virtual files (links) correctly, and wouldn't search in build directories, etc.

Perhaps a better option would be to add a "Project directory" scope and default to that instead of the "Disk directory". Though I'm not sure how useful searching in disk directories is, since MD UX only cares about the project, not the filesystem.

Having a command for doing a search of any file type on any directory is useful. I often use it to search directories which don't belong to the project. For example, I sometimes use it to find stuff in the MonoMac source without having to load the solution.

That being said, it would make sense to limit the search to project files when it is done on a subdirectory of the project, that is, when the command is invoked in the solution pad. I think a good option would be to leave the "Look in Directories" option as is, and improve the "Look in Project" option by adding a project subdirectory selector (set to the root of the project by default) and a "Look in project files only" checkbox (set to true by default).

I disagree with comment#0 (because for that option "Current project" filter already exists), and I agree with comment#2.
