In order to avoid conflicts with other services running on the Mac that might be using Port 5000, it would be good to be able to change the port used.
*** Bug 20315 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
This is essentially a duplicate enhancement request of:
That bug says that the VS side might be able to automatically handle a different port number for the Mac build host (mtbserver). I tried experimenting with that. I am able to change the Mac side to have a different port without any trouble, and Visual Studio even sees the build host in the selection dialog (via Bonjour), *but* the connection port on the Visual Studio side seems to be hard coded to 5000.
Running the Xamarin.iOS Build Host Diagnosis shows that the process fails at "Connection to Mac Server".
In contrast, connecting to the build server via `telnet`, and sending `HELO` _does_ work. So I think all that's missing is a way to change the port on the Visual Studio side.
I have just tried this and changed the port to 6000 because 5000 is not usable with my config. I can connect with telnet but Visual Studio is unable to connect.
Port changes with XMA implementation, we are using ssh default port 22.
