I believe (3) is MapsDemo:

The screenshot attachment agrees with me.

This isn't a Mono for Android problem, this is an environmental problem: the README needs to be clearer, but you need to create a new emulator that contains the Google Maps library. It won't work on the default API level image.

"Creating a device with Google Maps support"

Adjust the Target value as appropriate, e.g. for API level 10 Maps, you need to select the "Google APIs (Google Inc.) - API Level 10" target.

This is is fixed, as now the application APIDemo run successfully on API-10 and API-14. However, on API-7 it does not run successfully for which another bug has been logged, i.e. Bug 2209 - Many samples layouts are not compatible with API Level 7.

Hence, closing this issue.
