Description Neal 2014-04-20 15:42:34 UTC

I use WCF with secure transport in my app. I am in an upgrade cycle having not touched this app for a few months, updated all the Xamware (VS 2013 IDE) and the app is broken. I seemed to recall an issue like this in iOS some time ago, it's a linker issue. So I put in the following for linker exclusions: System.ServiceModel;System.Web.Services

With the exclusions everything works fine again. I'm not using the shared runtime. My WCF service layer is in a separate namespace "NCSoftware.Common" from the main app's namespace if that matters.

Just an FYI that the linker exclusion resolved it. Not sure what you may need as it's hard to really get you a test project for this issue but setting linking to NONE resolved it then as I recalled this issue in the past with Xamarin'ware I excluded the web services and WCF assemblies and all is fine with little penalty in size.

Thank you.

We have checked this issue and unable to reproduce it.

Could you please provide us sample project or steps,So that We can able to reproduce at our end.

Try putting your WCF code in a separate class library from your main project.

Sorry, my Android solution is single project, iOS is not. I can retest this if needed but several of us had this issue since this was reported in April 2014.
