Description narayanp 2014-04-09 09:29:37 UTC
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Android sample 'AdMob'
2. Add GoogleAdMobAdsSdk.jar as a link.
3. Build the sample.

Actual Result: It is giving build error "Error 29 The item "obj\Debug\__AndroidLibraryProjects__.zip" was specified more than once in the "Resources" parameter and both items had the same value "__AndroidLibraryProjects__.zip" for the "LogicalName" metadata. Duplicate items are not supported by the "Resources" parameter unless they have different values for the "LogicalName" metadata. C:\Program Files\MSBuild\12.0\bin\Microsoft.CSharp.CurrentVersion.targets 325 9 AdMobTest"

Expected Result: Application should build successfully.

Did you solve this?
Comment 2 Peter Collins 2014-05-08 14:23:34 UTC
I was unable to reproduce this build error on XA 4.12.4.

However, this sample will be deprecated / obsolete within a few months. The Google AdMob Ads standalone SDK is now flagged as obsolete in the Android SDK manager. Google will no longer provide support for, and the Play Store will no longer accept any application updates or new applications that use this SDK after August 1st, 2014. We will want to create a new sample demonstrating the new Google Mobile Ads API for AdMob, which is found within Google Play Services.

I have checked this issue with following builds:

X.S 5.0(Build 874)
Mono 3.4.0
X.Android 4.12.4-15

I am also getting build error for AdMob android sample. This is the build output: https://gist.github.com/saurabh360/8d97005a28ae3e382bb3

I think we can task our Mobile Dev guys in QA with updating and or creating a new sample for the Admob in Google Play Services.

Deleted AdMob sample from the monodroid-5.0-series branch because the sdk is no longer supported by Google. It is still in the history if anyone desires to use it as a reference.
