hidden cursor and current line highlighting
I set my own color theme in the Xamarin Studio. The background color of selected lines is almost the same as the background color of the highlighted current line (the line where the cursor is currently placed).
The problem occurs when I select several lines. The last line looks like selected but it is not selected only highlighted. It is caused by the "highlight current line" feature checked in the options. It is fine to have it checked because the highlighted current line helps to quickly find the line where the cursor is currently placed. However the Xamarin Studio does not allow to turn it of when the text is selecting.
Could you please disable the current line highlighting when you are in the selection mode? Or just add an option to allow it. The text selection would be clearer for users then.
There is also problem with the cursor. It is hidden when the text is selecting. It would be better to show it to allow users to predict where the cursor will move after arrow keys are pressed which causes deselection of the text.
@David: I think the theme was oblivion.
It would be enough to just turn off "Highlight current line" checkbox in the settings when text is selected and turn it on when there is no selection.
Is it hard to implement that?
It shouldn't be hard to implement. I think we should do it at some point.
