Description Allie Miller 2014-03-21 10:07:40 UTC
After updating to the latest stable version of Xamarin.iOS (versioning information below), users are no longer able to reference the web/* files and embed them in iOS. The .csproj syntax for an example of where this is occurring is as follows:

<Content Include="..\web\builds\radioio\index.html">

The updates occurred on both a Mac Build Host and Windows workstation.
Versioning Information:
Mono Framework: 3.2.6
Xamarin Studio:
XI: 7.2.0

GTK: 2.12.25
iOSforVS: 1.10.47

Allie, XI does not package the content files (nor read/process the .csproj files). It's the addin in XS (or MTVS).

Can you re-assign to XS (iOS addin) or MTVS depending on where it happens ?

As more information, this definitely seems to be new behavior, compared to the previous builds.

As a workaround we have switched to, on the Mac, using a symlink to the web\ directory from the project directory, and including the files with a simple:

    <Content Include="web\index.html">

Of course by using a symlink this means we no longer have a cross-platform toolchain (i.e., the Visual Studio setup is different from the Xamarin Studio one on the Mac) but at least we're unblocked.

As we've introduced several improvements around VS/Mac connection and the build system, I'll mark the bug as resolved fixed.
Please feel free to reopen it if you can still reproduce the issue with current bits.
