Description JohanO 2011-10-31 19:03:59 UTC
Description of Problem:

After upgrading some of my files won't open in MonoDevelop. The compiler does not seem to have a problem reading it and I also don't have a problem opening them in a text editor.

The file '/Users/johanotto/Projects/JustCloud/Core/Xml/Xml.cs' could not opened. Failed to convert content from UTF-8 to UTF-8: Invalid byte sequence in conversion input.

Actual Results:
Error is raised when the file is opened in MonoDevelop.

Expected Results:
No error should be raise, or some sort of 'recovery' failsafe needs to be implements.

How often does this happen?
All the time with certain files.

Thanks for the file.

MonoDevelop wrongly treated it as UTF-8 where it's CP-1252 or ISO 8859-15 - the problem was the 0xA9 (c) character.

I've fixed the "auto detection" routine, now that file loads correctly.
