Description Brendan Zagaeski (Xamarin Team, assistant) 2014-02-17 18:22:16 UTC
Might have the same underlying cause as bug #17234?

## Steps to reproduce

1. Create a new project of any kind.

2. Add a "Xamarin.Mac Project" or "Xamarin.Mac Library Project" to the solution.

## Result

The "References" for the newly added project includes "XamMac", but the reference is red, and has an error message:
> Assembly not found for framework Mono / .NET 4.0

## Workaround

Close and reopen the solution. The "XamMac" reference will now be black, and the compiler will find it successfully.

## Version information

Xamarin Studio 4.2.3 build 54
Xamarin.Mac 1.6.34, Xamarin.Mac 1.6.27

This issue is not present in Xamarin Studio 4.2.2 build 2.

Seeing the same thing here, with the latest version of Xamarin Studio (5.1 build 479).

Steps to reproduce, and workaround, are exactly as described above. I'm running Mac OS X 10.8.5.

While there is a workaround, once you find it, it's not at all obvious.

I believe these are duplicates:

https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=24534
https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=23598

But don't want to close them until we have a fix for this and can test those specific test cases.

This will be in the XS 6.0 release later this year.
