I just notice this today while trying to get my solution to debug with Visual Studio. Up until this point I have been doing all my development in Xamarin Studio. However, I wanted to take advantage of Resharper's refactoring tools before we go live, so I fired up the project in Visual Studio and everything built and ran. However I soon noticed exceptions such as those noted here:
After further searching and troubleshooting, I discovered that other binding libraries that were reference on the main iOS app project were working as expected, just the one wasn't working including the native library after compilation. The fact that this one wasn't working started me down the path of looking for differences and how they are used. And the only one I could see was the fact that this one library was reference off a sub library and not the main project.
As soon as I referenced this library off the main project, everything started working in Visual Studio.
To make a long story short. It appears that binding libraries referenced by iOS library projects don't pass through the native library to the iOS application that references it when built in Visual Studio, however this works fine in Xamarin Studio.
A temporary fix is to include the binding library directly in the iOS application.
Looking at it...
Tested with 3.1.224 and now it's working. Please, feel free to reopen it if this bug arises again...
