Won't install on VS 2013, no matter what.

Previously correctly installed on VS 2010, after installing vs 2013 there's no way to update/repair the installation
Comment 1 Marek Habersack 2014-01-07 09:32:43 UTC
Remove all Xamarin extensions from Control Panel, then as administrator run

devenv.exe /setup

for each VS version. When installing 1.8 for VS2013 you must explicitly select the VS2013 versions of the extensions (both ios and android) - not necessary with 1.10.

If you still cannot install, remove all the extensions again and then run each installation like so:

msiexec /i path_to_installer.msi /l*v install.log

and attach the logs here.

If installation succeeds, please mark the bug as fixed.

1) uninstalled everything,
2) deleted the common folders of Xamarin in VS path,
3)deleted other stuff which sincerely I can't remember.
4) Rebooted.
5) Reinstalled manually with the single installer downloaded (which wouldn't install without step 2)

Now it's ok.

I think you might have already heard this from me: please fix the installers ! :)

Joking aside, shouldn't one mark this as 'CONFIRMED' ? It's not fixed without the workaround...

No, FIXED is OK. Especially that there are installer and related changes coming. Thanks.
