Description softlion 2013-12-30 04:24:44 UTC
i'm using Xamarin.Android 4.10.01073 in VS2012 on Windows 7 (French)

When opening an axml file and switching to the source tab, CTRL+F does not highlight search terms and there is no intellisense.

I read that it was fixed in 4.7. So what do i have to do to get it fixed in 4.10 ?
I tryed a complete uninstall/reinstall with no luck.

I have checked this issue with following build

All Windows
X.S 4.2.2(build 2)
X.Android 4.10.1-73

I have observed that I am getting 'Find in Files' after pressing CTRL+F in .axml' source file. while in other file it open correct search popup window. This is the screencast for the same: http://www.screencast.com/t/awtCGm6agE

I'm still seeing this issue with Xamarin.Android in VS 2013 update 2. Any updates?

The bug is open since 2013. I think that's a simple issue.
Quick search it's a usefull tool. Thanks

Ok, so the actual bug is that Ctrl+F in a standard XML editor brings up the quick find behavior, whereas the Source tab in the Android designer binds that shortcut to the find in files window instead.

The fact that the search is being done in the entire solution is irrelevant and typically a user error, since there is a dropdown to select the search scope.

So we need to fix the actual shortcut binding problem.

How is this supposed to be fixed?

I have checked this issue with latest C7 build and observed that it is working fine. Here is the screencast for the same: http://www.screencast.com/t/HlkIeS8X

Hence closing this issue.
