Description Dominique 2011-10-25 04:48:52 UTC
It appears the QTOpenGLTextureContextCreate method is missing from QTKit.
This is needed to be able to retrieve the current QTMovie frame as an OpenGL texture.

It's been nearly 2 years since I filed this. Any ideas when it might be implemented?
Comment 2 Chris Hamons 2015-02-23 12:36:47 UTC

Apologies on the unacceptable long delay in responding to this bug.

I've combining these bugs into this one:

https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1677 - CVOpenGLTextureRef
https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1676 - QTVisualContextRef

We're working on burning down our bug backlog and will look at possible getting this into our mid-summer release. If this is blocking you, please let me know and I'll see if I can get you a monkey patch binding until then.

OK thanks for letting me know Chris. I logged this before I started working at Xamarin. I think the MonoGame team have probably worked around it. I can ask if it is still holding them up, but would think after 4 years, they might have moved on :)

IIRC QTKit headers were removed with Xcode 8.x - that makes them bad candidates to include in future versions (unless a specific use case can't be covered without it).
Comment 5 Sebastien Pouliot 2017-05-15 21:40:27 UTC
QuickTime was removed from Xcode 8+ and we won't be adding or updating bindings for it.
