Description Andreia Gaita 2011-10-20 11:13:33 UTC
Solutions in workspaces can't see each other at all at the moment, so referencing the output of one project in solution A from a project in solution B has to be done via assembly referencing. This causes "Go to Declaration" and other useful lookups end up on the assembly browser, which is less than ideal.

A nice feature would be:

When listing the available projects in the references, show also projects loaded in other solutions of the workspace and allow them to be referenced, but do the reference directly to the project output file, as if we were referencing an assembly on disk directly.

Then, when doing type lookups such as "Go to declaration", check if the assembly that contains the type is the output of a project loaded in the workspace, and go there instead of showing the assembly browser.

This way solutions won't break if loaded outside a workspace, and it makes workspaces a lot more useful.
