I have a simple solution with an android app project, and an android library project, in debug mode. The library project has some android resources.
Build the app project (first time) and deploy it: it will work fine.
Update a resource in the library project, then build the app project (second time): it will build, but the deployed version will have the old resources not the updated ones.
A workaround is to "clear" the app project, then build it again.
I use VS2012, not tryed in Xamarin Studio.
This happens both with 4.10.0 and 4.8.x
Same bug with Xamarin Studio (Android 4.10.1). The resource IDs are updated in the app project, but the resources (layouts, strings) are not. The bug is related to the build of the app: as a workaround delete the "obj" folder of the app (no need to clean all projects).
During Xamarin.Android 4.16 development cycle we have improved resource generation handling a lot, and this kind of issue should have been resolved. Please try our beta or alpha version. If it still didn't resolve the issue, please reopen it. Thanks.
