Description Chris Hardy [MSFT] 2011-10-19 06:26:14 UTC
It would be nice if this Assembly Browser would use the xml files next to the assemblies to put the comments you normally get in the tooltip above the decompiled code.

Created attachment 889 [details]

This is already supported, you have to change the langauge dropdown in the assembly browser to 'Description'. We can probably do this better though.

I'll do it when I get a html component ...
(I wanted to have something since years, but always I tried to do something with the webkit thing it didn't work and so I gave up that case :( )

How would an HTML component help here? AFAIK this is basically about the decompiler using docs to generate doc comments in the decompiled code.
Comment 5 Mike Krüger 2012-04-17 09:59:27 UTC
See the screenshot - it's about displaying the documentation in human readable form.

I can add the stuff to the xml docs - but xml docs are not readable.

Pretty sure the screenshot is Alan misinterpreting the user's request.

Marking as resolved as this is an old feedback item, if folks still want it, someone can file it up on UserVoice.
