Description Allie Miller 2013-10-18 12:53:07 UTC
In Xamarin.Android 4.8.3, after adding the permissions to the AndroidManifest.xml file, they are not saved once Visual Studio is closed.

To reproduce:
1) Add permissions to AndroidManifest.xml file
2) Close Visual Studio
3) Start Visual Studio

Inputted permissions are reset

Downgrading back to the previous version of Xamarin.Android allows users to save permissions to the AndroidManifest.xml file successfully

Thanks Allie,
I will follow the results from here.

I am unable to replicate this issue with the latest development code base.

There seems to be some ambiguity between the case and the forum. Are the permissions being added directly to the AndroidManfest.xml or via the Properties Page? Is visual studio being closed before the project is saved?

I have tried both scenarios that it works as expected.

Is it possible for you to do a screencast of this issue as it happens so we can try to replicate the exact steps you are using?
Comment 4 dean.ellis 2013-10-28 10:28:10 UTC
I got a screen cast from a customer showing this issue, attempting to replicate it now
Comment 5 Marco A. (Gh0stman) 2013-10-28 11:34:08 UTC
The permissions are changed via Properties Page and the VS is closed after a deploy/saved project.
Comment 6 dean.ellis 2013-10-29 08:13:09 UTC
I have managed to replicate this issue in 4.8.3. But I cannot replicate it in our latest development version which suggests we fixed it already.

I will check against the 4.10.0 release which is currently in the alpha channel and report my findings
Comment 7 dean.ellis 2013-10-29 09:03:25 UTC
Looks like this is fixed in the current Alpha 4.10.0 release. This release will probably be moved up to beta in a week or so.
Comment 8 Peter Collins 2013-11-11 16:56:54 UTC
Fix verified in 4.10.1 (44a3d45f)
