Getting the errorDialog for user to install/update GooglePlayService throws resources not found exception: Android.Content.Res.Resources.NotFoundException.
Comment 1 Jonathan Pryor 2013-10-02 22:27:17 UTC
As a guess, you're using the Google Play Services rev10 Component with the Google Play Services r12 library.

If that's the case, please updateto the Google Play Services rev12 Component.

If my guess is incorrect, please attach a reproducible test case and complete stack trace of the error.

How does it even possible to use GooglePlayServices Component with diferent
library? Component already include library, doesn't it?!

Anyway, that is EXCATLY the same problem (bug):

I have tested this on several devices (Android 4.x.x) - an exception has been
thrown in all cases.

MyApp has GooglePlayServices Component v_12 from Xamarin site;
In Android SDK manager there is GooglePlay Servises v12 instaled;
Devices have older GooglePlayServices than app required;

That's the aal point to push users to update GooglePlayServices trought
GooglePlay but when calling getErrorDialog methode exception is thrown (see

What more info can i send???

Beside, when i restore older GooglePlayService Component (v_10) in app, project
does event compile anymore!? So my development project is suspended.

This isn't a mismatch API issue. I suspect it's has some

After speaking with Radek, this seems to be a problem with how the component is being built. The fix for this should be in Xamarin.Android 4.8.4.

Is there any timeline for when the fix will be released on the stable branch?
Comment 8 Tom Opgenorth 2015-11-04 10:32:34 UTC
Assuming this has been fixed with the latest Google Play Services bindings.
