When building my small Android app, I get the following build error:

/Users/ifactr/Projects/MyMplsApp/App.MD.csproj: Error: /Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/External/xbuild/Novell/Novell.MonoDroid.CSharp.targets: Project file could not be imported, it was being imported by /Users/ifactr/Projects/MyMplsApp/App.MD.csproj: Out of memory (App.MD)

When I closed and re-opened the solution, I got the following error when attempting to Clean:

I had to Force-Quit shutdown Xamarin Studio on my MacBook Pro, because it had become unresponsive.

After shutting-down and re-starting, however, my app built fine.

It seems it was caused by a local system issue. Feel free to reopen if it happens again.
