Description Johannes 2013-09-17 14:57:23 UTC
Description of Problem:

When jumping to a location in a file (e.g by going to definition, going through "find references", etc), Xamarin opens the correct file, but fails to go to the correct line. Instead, it the cursor is placed where it was last time the file was open.

If the file is already open in the editor, this does not happen.

This looks like a regression of bug #1990 ( https://bugzilla.xamarin.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1990 ).

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open a project in Xamarin
2. Open a file
3. Place the cursor on a class name (which is defined in a different file)
4. Go to definition (e.g. by right-clicking and selecting "Go to definition")

Actual Results:
The file with the class definition opens, but the cursor is not on the right line.

Expected Results:
The cursor should be on the correct row and column.

How often does this happen?

Most of the time, though I haven't figured out the exact premises for it to happen.

Additional Information:

I'm using a project file generated by Unity 3d, if that matters. The project is in C#.

I cannot reproduce this. Is it still an issue?
Comment 2 Johannes 2014-12-11 02:53:37 UTC
I haven't used Xamarin in quite a while, so I can't say. Given the age of this issue I bet it's been resolved all ready—feel free to close it.

Works for me.
