if you have 2.6 style xibs (with their supporting name.xib.cs and name.xib.designer.cs files), you can't delete the supporting files.
this is a problem because if you're recreating the xibs to match the new 2.8 model, you probably just want to overwrite/create new controller in the same directory, but when you do, you now have extra files that you cannot delete from within MD.
TBH the ability to delete grouped files applies to the solution tree in general, not just MT projects. More generally, it's been suggested that we allow users to ungroup & group files as they wish by drag-n-drop.
