Description Mikayla Hutchinson [MSFT] 2013-08-27 17:46:11 UTC
When a solution is loaded and it loads a file from the userprefs, semantic highlighting doesn't work until an update is triggered.

Seems to work for me - in which solution do you've the problem ?

md-addins, on master.

That wasn't a semantic highlighting problem ... it was much more important - that's why I upped it to a high bug.

I have checked this issue with following builds.

All Mac
X.S 4.2.3(build 127)
git- 781819ed590c05a48201be53eb9602b56a4c1fde

When I check/uncheck option 'Enable Semantic highlighting'. I am seeing it is working fine in text editor.

Repro steps for this are:

1) Open solution
2) Open a file
3) Close the solution
4) Open the solution

The file opened in step 2 will be automatically reopened when the solution is reopened, but it will not have semantic highlighting until another file is opened.

I have checked this issuer with following builds:

All Mac
X.S 4.2.3(build 146)
git- 76e7c7f6ca0e59052f2bb29f8179313510977377

I am still seeing same behavior. when open solution, file opens automatically, but semantic highlighting does not appear. This is the screencast for the same: http://screencast.com/t/Szq9kfKEKyf

Hence reopening this issue.

Sorry, I should have been a little clearer. It does take a few moments for semantic highlighting to load - you can see it start working at the 16s mark in your video, about a second before you switch files. The bug was that it did not start at all. So I think we can consider this verified.
