If you create a brand new Binding project in MTVS there is no way to specify the .a file as ObjcBindingNativeLibrary
We've got this build action in XS but not the VS extension, confirming.

Another one for the Clarius boys.
We don't need Clarius guys. It's fixed at XamarinVS/master commit 6651af686c12be8f7ede472d1b29c4da89292e3d.
This build action is now available in the Binding Project template, however there is still a minor difference between VS and XS.
In XS, we only offer the ObjCBindingApiDefinition, ObjCBindingCoreSource, ObjCBindingNativeLibrary, build action selections when the project is a binding project. Do we want to do the same in VS? Currently all new template and project types in VS offer the above build actions.
Verified with Xamarin.iOS for VS 1.8.356.msi and Xamarin.iOS 220.127.116.11.pkg.
As mentioned in Comment #5, ObjcBindingNativeLibrary build action is now available in the binding project template.
