If you create a project with Xamarin Studio with an existing name, it does not warn the user that the file exists, instead it proceed to create all the files in the project, offering an option to "Cancel" the creation of that file, or "Overwrite it".
There is no way of canceling the whole operation up-front.
We should first check if the directory exists, and if so, warn the user. And if he chooses the proceed, he is on his own. But currently, the result is clicking once per file that would be overwritten, and ending up with a project that probably was modified, and had new files added.
Assigning to Mike.
This was one of the reasons we wanted to write the project template system, the template system does not currently have a list of files upfront.
We dont need to do write that to do a simple "Does the target directory exist?" check, and if so, warn the user upfront.
Today, we have checked this issue with:
XS (4.2.3 build 127)
Now this issue is not exist, If we create a project with Xamarin Studio with an existing name, it warns the user that file already exists.
hence marking this as Verified
