When I highlight some text in the editor, and use the keyboard shortcut to search (ctrl+F in my case), the option to enable case sensitive search activates automatically if it was disabled.
It doesn't seem to happen if I don't have text selected when invoking search, or when using the menu instead of the keyboard shortcut.
Works for me in latest master version (4.1.x)
Do you have the following preference set?
Preferences -> Text Editor -> Behaviour -> Automatically set search pattern case sensitivity
 Yeah, I have that option set; I didn't noticed it, I'm sorry. I probably misunderstood its behaviour the first time I saw it.
Anyway, I think there's still a (different) bug, since, for me, the case sensitive search doesn't activate automatically when searching using the menu instead of the keyboard shortcut. Shall I open another bug report?
