Description Saurabh 2013-08-21 09:01:39 UTC
Step to reproduce:
1. Open SearchableDictionary android sample
2. Open application Option
3. Select Target Framework to 'Android 4.2(Jelly Bean)'
4. Select Minimum Android version to 'Android 2.2(API level 8)'
5. Deploy the application on emulator
6. Application deploys successfully

Actual result:
Application deploys successfully but Search box does not appear. However, if we deploy application with its default setting then Search box appears.

Note: This issue exists on both emulator as well as device.

Actual result:
Search box should appear after changing its option similar as it appears with its default settings.

This sample requires 4.0 to build, therefore reducing the Minimum Android Version to v2.2 (API 8) is an invalid test-case.

The possible issue here is that the SearchableDictionary sample has android:minimumSdkVersion set to 11, and the XS alpha seems to be unable to display that as the option in the Manifest.

Thus, I imagine Saurabh saw that the minimum Sdk version "wasn't set" and reduced it to API 8.

I'm filing the XS bug, but for the future Saurabh the best thing is to explicitly check the AndroidManifest.xml file.

In SearchableDictionary, you'd see "<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="11" />"
