Description Atin 2013-07-31 12:01:37 UTC
In Release notes: We have note "Automatic bracket insertion for methods and constructors."

For this we have open any .cs file and create method in it but didn't got automatic bracket. However we are getting automatic brackets if we select any method from auto completion window, But same functionality we are also getting with stable XS 4.0.9(build 2) so not sure whether we are checking it right or not?

it doesn't seem to be any different, is there any further information you can provide.

Environment details:
All mac
XS 4.0.11(build 6)
Mono 3.2.1 ((no/f3f789e)
MFA 4.8.1-10

Should be in 4.1.x

In former versions there was an approach doing something like that - but it wasn't really working. It's the bracket insertion in the code completion that's ment in the release notes.

It now should work on object creation too and it has an own option, in former releases it was bound to automatic bracket insertion - which is something differnt.

(And now it can create a ; as well ;))

4.0.11 is branched from the same point as 4.1.8 Mike, so we should have the commits.

It looks like you're talking about the addition of these new sections in the Text Editor settings: http://screencast.com/t/uOejJoDLfIM

Mike, what specifically do you want tested here from QA? It looks like there's a lot of new features here and we're already into regression testing. It's a bit late to do acceptance of new features.

Did you test these things yourself?

There aren't really new features there - they were just bound to some ... let's say 'other' features.

For example the automatic bracket insertion was bound to the automatic bracket insertion - but the completion behaviour is quite different than the ) auto insert.
If you never tested any of those things you were just missing these. It's more a cleanup of the options than new features.

The only 'new' feature is the 'Show import items' - but if you tested the "Add import items" command - it's basically the same just in the default completion list.

Other than that I don't think that these require manual tests - I've unit tests for the stuff here.

Today we have checked this issue with XS 4.2.2(build 2 ),Now automatic bracket insertion working fine for method, constructor and on object creation.

Hence verifying this issue.
