Description Chris Hardy [MSFT] 2011-10-07 20:54:57 UTC
Highlighting of types does not always work (example form highlight editor) the string[] is highlighted but if you change it to String[] it does not highlight.

using System;

// This is an example
class Example
	public static void Main (String[] args)
		Console.WriteLine ("Hello World");

"string" is a builtin C# type, it can always be highlighted.

Highlighting "String" correctly requires semantic highlighting.

Is then semantic highlighting not supported then, even if it is an option in the Code Highlighting Menu?
Comment 4 Mikayla Hutchinson [MSFT] 2012-03-02 14:11:13 UTC
Pretty sure semantic highlighting option was removed for 2.8, because it had server performance problems. It was rewritten for 2.9 and enabled by default.
