The usual copy & paste inside the Solution tree doesn't work anymore. MD seems to do something, the status bar says:

Copying files ...
Items saved

but nothing happens.

Yes windows 10 and monodevelop loaded from unity 2017

I have a work around.
from the monodevelop editor select two blank spaces in the C# file and ctrl-c.
then go back to the file you want to copy. copy into the buffer and try paste again .... works for me
