Example to reproduce

The XmlSerializer used from a Xamarin.Android application does not support serialization of an IList property, the xmlserializer throws the following exception:

To be XML serializable, types which inherit from ICollection must have an implementation of Add(System.String) at all levels of their inheritance hierarchy. System.Collections.Generic.IList`1[[System.String, mscorlib, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e]] does not implement Add(System.String).

The .Net Framework XmlSerializer has no problems with serializing an IList property.

With the attachment it's possible to reproduce this bug.
