Description Oliver Weichhold 2013-07-03 06:54:20 UTC
Steps to reproduce:

1. Clone repository https://github.com/reactiveui/ReactiveUI.git
2. Switch to branch "ios-device-crash-investigation"
3. Open solution "RXUITest" in root of repository
4. Run the application on the device and observe a crash in PropertyBinderImplementation.Bind()

Any news on this?
Comment 2 Zoltan Varga 2013-08-19 13:40:51 UTC
The actual exception is:

2013-08-19 19:40:40.238 RXUITest[7578:907] Unhandled managed exception: Attempting to JIT compile method 'ReactiveUI.PropertyBinderImplementation/<Bind>c__AnonStorey46`5<RXUITest.RXUITestViewModel, RXUITest.RXUITestViewController, string, string, System.Reactive.Unit>:<>m__E9 (bool)' while running with --aot-only. See http://docs.xamarin.com/ios/about/limitations for more information.

  at System.Reactive.Linq.Observαble.Select`2+_[System.Boolean,System.Tuple`2[System.Object,System.Boolean]].OnNext (Boolean value) [0x0000a] in /svn/mono/external/rx/Rx.NET/System.Reactive.Linq/Reactive/Linq/Observαble/Select.cs:70

This still doesn't work with 6.4.x.
Comment 3 Zoltan Varga 2013-08-19 19:33:11 UTC
This will be fixed in a future x.ios release. However, our support for constrained calls (i.e. calls
made through variables whose type might be a reference type or valuetype at runtime) is still limited.

Thanks for the update. Is there any workaround you could suggest?
Comment 5 Zoltan Varga 2013-08-20 13:55:08 UTC
Fixed the rest of the cases as well.
Comment 6 Oliver Weichhold 2013-08-20 13:59:17 UTC
Wow. That was quick! Great job. Any idea when this will hit iOS Beta?
Comment 7 Zoltan Varga 2013-08-23 17:28:33 UTC
The fixes will be in the not-yet released 6.4.4.
Comment 8 PJ 2013-08-29 13:16:18 UTC
Verified the test case passes. App loads and I can generate GUIDs.

Test environment:
iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4

XS 4.0.12/1b2e128
Xcode 4.6.3
Mono 3.2.2/a0fc6ba
