Description Zoltan Varga 2013-06-24 18:13:09 UTC
mdtool uses the mt installation prefix set in Preferences/SDKs in XS, and there is no way to override it from the command line. This is frustrating for those who work with multiple mt versions at the same time.
A related issue is that there is no way to pass project options on the command line, i.e. to turn llvm on/off for an mt project for command line testing.

We don't really have plans to add support for all this. mdtool is just a workaround that allows building MT solutions outside XS, but the real solution is to move the MT build system to xbuild. When we have xbuild working, you should be able to override any setting using the msbuild syntax.

Do we still support mdtool/vstool. Marking the bug as confirmed for now, but we should follow a deprecation process.

Actually, marking as NOT_ON_ROADMAP.
