Description of Problem:
XamarinStdio on Windows (4.0.8 from alpha channel) hangs when creating an F# Android project on Windows.
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Install XS 4.0.8, the F# Language Binding and the F# for Android support
2. Create an "F# Ice Cream Sandwich" application
Actual Results: IDE hangs
Expected Results: Project created successfully
How often does this happen? All the time on my install
- I will also try on the Mac.
- I attached a debugger and looked for a problematic callstack but didn't see anything
- Opening and building a previously-created F# Android project works ok
BTW can you add "F# for Android" and "F# for iOS" to the list of choices for "Component" in Xamarin bug reports please?
Dave Thomas (@7sharp9) reports:
It doesn't hang the IDE on a Mac, it doesn't build either though. It fails while generating the java stubs:
: error XA0009: Error while loading assembly: /Users/dave/Projects/deleteice/deleteice/bin/Debug/deleteice.dll
Task "GenerateJavaStubs" execution -- FAILED
Done building target "_GenerateJavaStubs" in project "".-- FAILED
I can no longer reproduce this (XS 5.7), so closing for now.
