Description Fedor 2013-06-12 15:30:48 UTC
Description of Problem:
Inserts white spaces before open parenthesis when I strike ";" at the end of the line in any C# file

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Go to Tools -> Code Formatting -> C# source code -> Edit
2. Select Category: White Space
3. Remove check box in Expressions/Method Invocations/before opening parenthesis
4. Open any C# file write some function invocation w/o space before opening parenthesis hit ";"

Actual Results:
Adds white space before "("

Expected Results:
No white space

How often does this happen?

Additional Information:
Tries to restart Xamarin studio - no changes.
Really drives me mad(((

Is the file part of a project/solution?

If so, you need to change the solution's code formatting policy.
Comment 2 Fedor 2013-06-18 14:49:46 UTC
Yes, files are part of solution. Thanks, solution code formatting has helped.

As for feedback for this feature: may be it`s quite undescoverable(( Because, the first thing that came into my mind that Tools -> Code Formatting is sufficient. May be you should add "Apply settings for current solution" button or something similar.

Yes, we know it's discoverability issue and we have a plan to fix it.
Comment 4 Shruti 2014-03-27 05:54:20 UTC
I have checked this fix by following the steps mentioned in Description section.
1. White Space appears before parenthesis() When 'white Space before opening parenthesis' checkbox is checked.'

2. White Space does not appears before parenthesis() When 'white Space before opening parenthesis' checkbox is not checked.
