Steps to reproduce:
1. Download all applications from http://github.com/xamarin/monotouch-samples location.
2. Launch the MonoDevelop.
3. Click on "Open an existing solution" link.
4. Select "StreamingAudio" application.
5. Click on Open button.
6. Select Debug|iPhone Simulator.
7. Select Build>>Build<Project name>.
8. Select RUN>>iPhone/iPad Simulator.
9. Click on URL and enter new URL.
10. See fatal error occurred.
11. Select Debug|iPhone.
11. Select Build>>Build<Project name>.
Fatal error is occurred and application gets closed when user tries to change the URL.Refer the attached screenshot.

I can reproduce this crash if I set the url to "http://www.google.com", but I guess that makes sense since the stream wouldn't be an mp3 stream.
I don't have any mp3 urls handy so I can't test if it works with other mp3 stream urls, but it doesn't crash for me using the default mp3 stream url.
Seems to be working when you point it at an actual MP3 stream. Do we want to add some sort of error handling?
Sample code that crashes is bad... I think we should have some sort of error handling.
The sample doesn't crash anymore with iOS 5.1.
