Description Hin-Tak Leung 2013-05-07 20:22:47 UTC
po/mcs is a directory in git with many files, but somehow in the 3.0.8/3.0.9/3.0.10 release tar balls, the whole directory is wiped and replaced by a file which looks like a file list. This cause autogen.sh to fail (probably will cause ./configure to fail also?):

**Warning**: I am going to run `configure' with no arguments.
If you wish to pass any to it, please specify them on the
`./autogen.sh' command line.

Running libtoolize...
libtoolize: putting auxiliary files in `.'.
libtoolize: copying file `./ltmain.sh'
libtoolize: putting macros in AC_CONFIG_MACRO_DIR, `m4'.
libtoolize: copying file `m4/libtool.m4'
libtoolize: copying file `m4/ltoptions.m4'
libtoolize: copying file `m4/ltsugar.m4'
libtoolize: copying file `m4/ltversion.m4'
libtoolize: copying file `m4/lt~obsolete.m4'
Running aclocal -I m4 -I . ...
Running autoheader...
Running automake --gnu ...
po/Makefile.am:1: error: required directory po/mcs does not exist
**Error**: automake failed.

removing po/mcs and unpacking the same from the git mono-3.0.10 tag lets this move forward. This seems to be a packaging error.

Confirmed, I can't update the openSUSE package because of this:

config.status: error: cannot find input file: `po/mcs/Makefile.in.in'

Workaround while waiting for fixed tarballs:

rm mono-3.0.10/po/mcs
wget https://github.com/mono/mono/archive/master.zip
unzip master.zip
mv mono-master/po/mcs/ mono-3.0.10/po/
rm -rf mono-master master.zip

Then ./configure and make work fine.

This was fixed a while ago.
