Description Mike James 2013-04-25 08:24:29 UTC
We've had a number of customers who are only given the option to purchase when starting Visual Studio. I believe that we should still be offering an option for a trial. I have seen at least 3 cases in the last 2 days of customers not being able to start a trial.

These customers have confirmed that they haven't had a previous trial and have no licenses installed.

I will link to the cases when I find them.

Hi Mike,
Have you tried this on a clean machine? I've seen the Trial option every time I've reset my machine.

I've not experienced the issue myself but will investigate it on a clean system (fires up a VM).

Will get back to you on that!

Today, We have checked this issue with following builds:

VS 2010/2012
Windows 7 and 8
MTVS 1.2.109

If a user is logged in with fresh a account which does not have any license We are seeing Begin a trial option and user is successfully able to activate it. Hence marking this as Verified Fixed.
