Created attachment 3853 [details]
test.cs that takes a while to execute

    mcs test.cs
    mono --profile=log:sample=cycles/1000,output=-output.mlpd,zip,noalloc,maxframes=8 test.exe

and in a separate terminal run:
    mprof-report output.mlpd

The "Statistical samples summary" will not show up until the process has exited.

Paolo, do you plan working on this?

After the updates to the profiler, mprof will now update this live.

Confirmed by increasing the "max" by two orders of magnitude and waited for a while.
