Description ventsislav mladenov 2013-03-14 11:05:10 UTC
Hi I noticed that Monodevelop breaks Visual Studio 2012 project file.
It adds
<Import Project="$(MSBuildExtensionsPath)\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.targets" />
in the project which is incompatible with VS 2012 (In my preferences I use VS 2012 Load/Save project format).
First VS 2012 do not need this import and second the version should be v11.0 not v10.0

Monodevelop reorders assembly references and saves boolean values with pascal case (VS saves them in lower case)
MD: <Optimize>True</Optimize>
VS: <Optimize>true</Optimize>
This leads to unneeded version control changes.

I notice that my project file already contains

<Import Project="$(MSBuildExtensionsPath32)\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.targets" Condition="false" />

the MD automatically inserted import is

<Import Project="$(MSBuildExtensionsPath)\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v10.0\WebApplications\Microsoft.WebApplication.targets" />

leads VS2012 to fail to load the project, stated the files was not found. "Confirm the path is correct and file exists on disk"...

A workaround is to add `Condition="false"` to the MD added import

The latest ASP.NET addin in Xamarin Studio 5.9 no longer seems to add an import to the project. Closing this bug.
