When creating a new iOS test project from within VS, the project does not contain a iPhone launch image for the 4 inch display. As a result, the test project defaults to the 3.5" screen height.
I can't reproduce this issue. After creating a new ios unit test project from the templates I can see the iPhone launch image for retina (4"). The result project is identical to the one generated by XS.

Retested against 1.1.200, new test projects do not include any launch images.
As per comment #2, setting to NEW.
Fixed in XamarinVS/master commit a71336e4ecb2bbe181acb8139032c752ef1ac8c4
