Description of Problem:
The source code editor only displays a grey square. http://imgur.com/5kY46Bd
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open a project file
2. Open a source code file
It claims to have loaded and copy & paste indeed works. I see a grey Window.
See the source code.
How often does this happen?
btw. try a build from monodevelop git master or change the ide theme to some different scheme and restart monodevelop.
Today we have checked this issue with following builds:
X.S 4.0 - 1645b898271456799b70944c8b356ed6c5c00fdf
Mono - 2.10.12 (mono-2-10/823e22f)
We are not seeing grey window. This is the screencast for the same:
Changing the status to Verified.
@narayanp: was a linux only issue - no way of reproducing this on mac.
So Xamarin removed all quality assurance processes for the Linux platform now?
If we wouldn't care about Linux we won't have fixed this bug.
We've several developers using linux as their platform. But you need an uncommon system (at least from our pov).
The bug was that the oxygen-gtk had a bug (read: it was not our fault) - we can't fix it only disable the theme. We have no single developer with that theme, therefore we got reports of this after the launch :(
The linux eco system is really big and there are many components that work together which can break - it's almost impossible to check all combinations.
The 4.0.2 version will give a much better Linux user experience.
You are right, I am using KDE with oxygen-gtk. Should have mentioned that in the bug report. We will stick to MonoDevelop 3.0.6 for openSUSE 12.3 then.
you can use 4.0
All you have to do is go to the options choose ide options->language
there is a combo box called 'theme'
you've to switch away from oxygon-gtk for example clearlooks or gilouche (don't remember exactly - it's been a long time sine I used opensuse) and then restart the ide.
It should work then.
(Standard) and Raleigh did not work. Oxygen-Molecule fixes it.
