I'm not 100% positive but many versions of Newtonsoft.Json.dll are not compatible with Xamarin.iOS because they refer to types only available in .NET 4 (and the product is still, mostly, based on the 2.1 profile - similar to Silverlight).
I see you have references to both Newtonsoft.Json.dll and Newtonsoft.Json.MonoTouch.dll.
Could you add "-v -v -v" to the "Additional mtouch arguments" of your project options. This will augment the verbosity of the build and might tell us more about the source of the exception.
It would also be helpful (if only to confirm the fix) if you could zip all .dll/exe in that your application builds or reference (except the one shipped with the product). That way we'll be able to duplicate the same crash locally. Thanks
I removed the errant Newtonsoft.Json.dll and replaced it with Newtonsoft.Json.MonoTouch.dll and the above error went away. I am getting other errors, but they are probably solvable and unrelated to this bug report.
