If I open the MonoDevelop solution and then search for 'feedback' in the 'Whole Project' scope, i get tonnes of results in MonoMac.dll. I don't know why MD thinks I want to look inside dlls, but I don't ;) Also, binary results like this make listing the search results *incredibly* slow. If we really want binary matches we have to make it faster to display them. It takes over a minute to display the results for me on my uber-fast laptop.

And by '1 minute' i mean MD is still dying more than 5 minutes later. I'm going to have to kill it and restart.

This is an option, pretty sure it's not set by default: http://screencast.com/t/RKIxm4pdItw

Did you set it by accident or is it not working?
Comment 3 Alan McGovern 2011-09-27 11:58:43 UTC
It's not possible to set that on MacOS. Those options apparently don't exist: http://screencast.com/t/7o6siSTA

The only search scope which obeyed this option was the DirectoryScope. I fixed the other scopes to use this as appropriate.
